Clay County Election Board to Implement 2022 Congressional Maps for November General Election

LIBERTY, MO, September 11, 2026 - Following the stay from the United States Supreme Court, the ruling from the Missouri Supreme Court, and instructions from the Missouri Secretary of State, the Clay County Election Board is proceeding as directed with the 2022 Congressional maps for the November 3, 2026, General Election. The recent Missouri Supreme Court ruling has also added the statewide Proposition A and Amendment 6 to the ballot. Please note that this statewide Proposition A is distinct from the local Clay County Proposition A, which also appears on the ballot

The Clay County Election Board has already implemented these changes, operating with statutory deadlines of September 18th for military and overseas voters, and September 22nd for absentee ballots. As election administrators, our mandate is to execute the law. We remain vigilant and will provide updates should there be any further developments.

  • Updates to Your Polling Place Experience

  • Congressional District Realignment Update: Due to recent Supreme Court rulings, Missouri will be utilizing the 2022 Congressional maps for the November 3 General Election. The HB1 map that was temporarily in use during the primary election will not be utilized for the General Election.

  • Restoration of Voting Rights (HB 1871): Following the implementation of MO HB 1871 on August 28, 2026, the law regarding voting eligibility for individuals with felony convictions has been modified . The statute now specifically defines which felony convictions cause an election disability while a person is on probation or parole . It is recommend that individuals currently on probation, parole, or post-sentence release verify their eligibility to register to vote, as you may now qualify to participate in upcoming elections .

  • Quicker, Easier Check-In Process: We have upgraded our check-in system to save you time. When you arrive at your polling place, you no longer need to stand in a specific line based on your last name or precinct — feel free to approach any open table or election worker. Our new system will process you instantly and ensure you receive the correct ballot. If your registration requires an update or troubleshooting, you may be directed to a dedicated help station so we can resolve the issue without delaying other voters.

  • Clay County Vote Center: Clay County's Vote Center is open on Election Day at the Maple Woods Campus Center, 2601 NE Barry Rd., Kansas City, MO 64156. Any registered voter in Clay County can vote at this location.
